Mixing a CD, as a hobby, has just GOT to be ranked somewhere near knitting...or tatting.....
I made an earnest effort at it, but it feels pedantic. Clic and drag...right clic and edit...double clic here...check the box there.....I started to get tense, then my husband laughed and remarked at how I become tense over tasks which are really quite relaxing. Sadly, it is true.
I rewarded myself with a Krispy Kreme donut and a lot of songs from Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 to burn the calorie wake left by the chocolate iced donut with sprinkles. YUM-O!

Hey I read these blogs for enjoyment, not so I have to drag out my funken wagnel dictionary, what in the sam hill does pedantic mean!!
Well, Jackie, when something is described as pedantic it usually means it is unnecessarily technical. If someone is described as pedantic, it usually means that person is concentrating on the minute details instead of the big picture. I just used the phrase to indicate my perception that there were too many unnecessary steps to creating a mix CD for one's own enjoyment.
Contrary to conventional wisdom, it is okay to read a dictionary for pleasure and/or personal growth. I am THOROUGHLY enjoying my new Oxford dictionary (which you were kind enough to find for me at the store!!!!!) :)
I have to disagree a little. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE making mix cd's. I used to make mix tapes all the time when I was in college. I can completely relate to John Cusack's character in High Fidelity. There is an artistic science involved in making a mix cd. It took me about 4 days to get my latest creation just right. No wonder being a dj was my favorite job ever. I will, however, say that the program I have on my current computer is sort of annoying...I liked the program on my old computer better.
I wonder why there is no competitive category for this at county or state fairs?
